my standard sta shorty builds
« on: September 16, 2010, 01:38 AM »
just a couple of pics of the two bikes im going to concentrate on building up over the next few months

i have about 10 frames at minute ive collected but going to keep them as frames and maybe add the correct forks and stem combos if they come up for sale

so this is progress so far

the shorty came as a complete bike but i didnt like most of the parts on it so they were sold and i started to personalise it
still need

* stickers    full shorty set!
* strip bars
* g sport wheels front and rear   (now sourced)  :D

the STA i got off ebay as a frame only and touched up some chips on it with a few coats of permanent maerker pen ;)   actually works well  ! at the monet it has standard copy forks and a what i think is rare massive heavy standard stem!
still need

* sta 500 sticker for toptube   (i think thats what it is)
* genuine standard forks

you can see a red 125 r frame in the pics too which im going to keep like that, ive had that about 3 months and only bought it cause i thought it looked ace and its a STANDARD

after looking through this site ive seen a few photos of it so its got a bit of history by looks of it  :D

does anyone have any info (aimed at you boffins out there)   on what year my sta shorty might be?  i was advised shorty 1995  and STA 1996

any info or comments appreciated

i'll post up more of my bikes soon

red 125 looks familiar!! :shocked:
btw, its a 125bicycle motocross, not a 125r ::)

were you the dude who bought it from me at meadowhell?

do you want an STA in the same colour to match it? :LolLolLolLol:

i got it from a guy in nottingham    he told me it was stickered up by that "rick" guy from standard or somrthing like that

its in pretty good nick and i only bought it simply because its STANDARD and i liked the colour

never any plans to build it.

is it def the same one?

and is that a good or bad thing its a motorcross rather than a 125r         really havent got a clue have i   LOL     :daumenhoch:

Standard-a-thon !

I like standard frames me, still think they are the best frames ever made.

Don't spose anyone wants to swap a 21" 125 for a 20.5  250  :P ?  never had a 125,  that 125 is my idea of what a bmx should look like.

more or less how i'd set a bike up.

does it have a ding in the right side top tube near the head tube?

dunno about rick stickering it up though :-\
maybe he just fingered it when it was first built.....

personally i'd rate the motocross above the 125r,
the 125r is just an evolved motocross anyways,

nice frames btw... :daumenhoch:

dont worry about that little ding, it was there when it arrived from the states, , i could have filled it but didnt want to be dishonest about the frames heritage,
i think it suits it tbh,

character goes a long way!

dan, i wish i'd have kept it too but needs must eh?
btw, send me an addy on fb? x :smitten:
