Its on a dual carriageway so its easier coming from the North going in a southerly direction.

I would suggest going straight to M6 Junction 31 rather then getting off at Junction 30 because you have quite a few Roundabouts to negotiate.

Trust me.  Its far easier from Junction 31.   

M6 Junction 31 turnoff towards preston on the A59/Preston New Rd
Total about Drive: 2.5 mi – about 5 mins

First :-
1. Head west on A59/Preston New Rd
Continue to follow A59
Go through 1 roundabout 1.9 mi (straight ahead)

2. Turn left at A6/London Rd T Junction and travel for approx 0.4 miles

Keep looking to the Left.   After some houses it will start going downhill it will open up and you will see a big gate (On the Left).  Thats the BMX Track Entrance

If you go past a pub at the bottom of the hill on the left then you have gone too far
 
They moved the football pitch and put the BMX Track at the top end.

Old Skool Winter Series Details

Its the 1st Round of the 2010 Old Skool Winter Series!! So come on lads get ya names down!!!!

This first round is being held at the North Region Club Championships meet.   This should be a good start to our improvised Old Skool Winter Series.   The rest of the series will be made up out of Club meets when we know every clubs winter schedule.

You DO NOT need a Silver BCF Membership to race at Preston and the rest of the winter series.   The North Region Club Championships is not a regional,  its a Club championships and should be outside of BC's influence  (I hope).

I do not know whether you need to be signed on to a club to race?    I have asked but I didn't get an clear answer!!    So lets just turn up and race anyway!

RADBMX ID, Number Plate and Weapon of OS Destruction Please.   

REMEMBER!!!   OS Racing is all about fun and trying to stay on the bike.  So all you newbies out there who want to have a dabble then dont wait and dont worry.  We're a great bunch of lads.  Whatever physical condition your in or skills your lacking, you'll still be appreciated.  Its all about the CRAIC!! 

If any Midlands, Southern or Scottish OS Riders fancy a trip up/down to sunny Preston then you'll be more than welcome but prepare for a good ass whupping!!   

Full Face Helmet, Long pants and long sleeve jersey and Gloves are minimum requirements.   I suggest Shin/Kneepads and Elbow pads.  Body Armour wouldn't go a miss either!!

This is the first round of the Old Skool Winter Series.............so I expect all the NS defectors to turn out for this one.   Its only Preston.   You can ride 2 classes if you really have to race NS and we'll make sure you have time to re-couperate!! 

Any newbies should note that Preston is one of the easier Tracks to race.............so stop being big girlies and grow a pair!!! 

Lets get this Winter Series off to a flying start!!

Your riding Anthony!!   Its the start of a new series so you might as well do it!! 

Every newbie is scared of racing.   Just get round the track safely, dont go mental.  You'll improve over time and soon catch up to everyone else.   Everyone has to start somewhere, so this might as well be it.

Tell us where you live?    If you live near a track then there should be an OS'er nearby who'll meet up and give you some tuition and let you have a go on their bike to ease into racing.    If you haven't seen a track in 25 years then it can be a shock to the system.   So a little track time will remove the fear factor.

Whatever bits you need, they'll be loaners available.    Plus you have a month to get it built!!   If your live near an OS'er then I'm sure they'll assist in your build.

Just keep us up to date on the parts you need and dont leave it to the last minute.

I could always bring another bike if yours is unbuildable.

Helmet, Gloves are mandatory.   For a newbie I'd go for knee/shin pads and elbow pads (minimum).   

Dont worry about a number plate.   They'll provide a loaner number plate and/or numbers if you need them!!
