NORTHERN WINTER SERIES
« on: September 10, 2010, 09:04 PM »
So it looks like we are sorting out a series for ourselves with one-off organised meets and club days.

If we have 5-6 meets, which tracks do we drop?

I think we need a show of names for people who think they will be a REGULAR RIDER. It's going to be important to turn up if you say you will as it could be just an OLD SKOOL meet.

So lets have a feeler of who's in :daumenhoch:

1. Nhoj
2. MotomagII
3. Rooski
4. JT Smooth
5. Jon the bassist
6. Glynnyboy
7. Badbaldie

I'd drop coppull and crewe if I had to drop a few tracks!!

Drop Crewe, it's nearly a 28 hours drive for us, it's not even in the North, it's in Wales :idiot2: ;D

OS'ers like to give it large.........................so I think it should be an organised club meet with gates, finishing line judges, first aid etc, etc.

I reckon 4 or 5 races meets will do.   It all depends on what club races are on!!

I'd like to race at Hartlepool but they dont have gates/meets on Sunday but if we organise Hartlepool as the last race before Nationals/Regionals next year then maybe Hartlepool could organise some gates and classes as a pre summer season warm up meet.

Anyway it all depends on what available.

Club meets have the added advantage in that they might start later and finish earlier due low rider turn out.

If Leeds is already out then Bradford has to stay in.................being from South Cumbria an OS series with Lytham, Preston, Coppull, Manchester would be ideal but it wont be fair on Eastern Massiv.

Club Champs is in October and we'll have a word with all of the clubs to see whats available.   We'll work something out after that.

If all else fails then we'll just have an organised OS meet and have some fun!!

Without gates and Finishing line judges then I dont see the point to the series, so why not brave the cold weather and have a good ol' session of riding!!!   Turn up at a respectable hour and give it large for a few hours and then back home before the dark creeps in!!

Maybe even hit up a few different spots like trails, play tracks etc, etc!!!

Just for the record, Leeds said they may be able to do a proper one-off gate practice for the old skoolers at YEADON!!!

I think the clubs with proper club race meets is the best bet, although it would be a shame to loose Hartlepool.  Maybe some locals could have a word with the club to see about something??

I think we need to get some dates sorted asap or we are likely to loose people to other comittments.

Lets keep the thread going in a positive and useful manner and stick to the job in hand ie GET YOUR NAME DOWN IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO MOST OF THE RACES :police:

REGULAR CLUB RACES

1. Bradford
2. Preston
