Another MT Racing Restoration
« on: September 03, 2010, 05:30 PM »
Okay, here's another MT Racing restoration  8)
This is a 1984 Silverfox (full Cr-Mo Frame and Fork, 19" Toptube). Picked this Frame and Fork complete with the original headset and I have tried to restore it as close to factory specification as possible.
Some of the copy parts used on these bikes are virtually impossible to locate now but its about 99% accurate  ::)
I love builds like this, tracking down all of the less desirable parts that have mostly been discarded or binned over the years and restoring a favourite brand of mine from bitd.

Big thanks to Dan for the new powder, to Del for the super sweet decals and to Wirewheel (Alpha BMX) for building up the wheels for me. Thanks guys, top job as always  :4_17_5:

Anyway.........here she is, hope you like her  :)

Just arrived back from Dan and fitted with new decals.

Here's an advert from BMX Action (1984)

Bit closer

And now fully restored..........

And here she is in the MT line up  :smitten:
From left to right: 83 Superfox (not quite finished yet), 83 Silverfox, 84 Silverfox, 84 The Fox and 85 The Fox.

Absolutely superb mate. Really really good to see bikes like these resurrected back to their former glory. If there were more Halfords Turbo's around i reckon i'd concentrate on them.

You Sir are a credit to old school BMX.   :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

Wow that's sweet!

My mate had a Chrome Silver Fox BITD....Probably the '83 as it didn't have CW type bars....

First time on it I snatched the front brake and went over the bars!
