84 Haro Sport build (stem and handle bar suggestions)
« on: September 03, 2010, 02:49 PM »
Well build number two is coming along and nearly finished, just need to take some links out the kmc chain, swap the saddle over for the white dominator and sort a stem and handlebars out. I have some 85 haro master bars in red, that I was thinking of getting SBD to powder white to match the frame, and then keep it a black and white theme.

Stuck on stem at the moment, I have a forklifter in radberry, which again I could get powdered but it has the mods bolt in it, and I don't really want to drill out the NOS front MX1000 quick release.

No wise cracks about the brake lever, just got feed up with it dangling around!

What do people think, get the forklifter powdered black, and the bars white, or stick something else on?

White bars but maybe go for a different stem as the Radberry Forklifter might be sought after  ;)

Strip and polish the stem then add new decals.  Will look great against white bars and a silver Forklifter (if done properly) would be worth more than a Radberry.  :daumenhoch:

I would be putting a silver or white forklifter on there myself.  I don't think black would look right but there again who knows..

A forklifter yes yes yes with white bars :daumenhoch:

Why not an anlun stem  ???, look at Arnauds (double chevron) in the museum part that'll give you an idea of how a sport factory spec will look   :)

Arnauds  :smitten:

I know yours is more freestyle aimed but an Anlun would work fine also, not just saying that as I have one  :LolLolLolLol:

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'm liking the white master bars steveD, think I'll go that route. Still not sure re stem as if I use my forklifter I need to drill out the mx1000 to route the front cable. May do it as this is going to be my main rider, so nice to be able to spin the bars, the master can be kept in the office.

You don't have to use the potts, so you could leave the front brake as it is or you can do it like this.........

This way you will only loose the adjuster, so you can put it back as it was if you want after, just get another adjuster  :coolsmiley:

I finally made a decision, as I picked up a yellow forklifter, so I guess it has already been painted as I don't think they shipped in yellow.
I'm going to strip it and see what the finish is like underneath, if it's good I'll polish it up, if poor then off to SBD with the bars.

Should look cool when stripped and polished.

They were painted (or powdered) so Nitro-Mors it is.  :daumenhoch:
