Hello! Newbie here wanting info on my Redline
« on: September 01, 2010, 10:09 PM »
Hi, After visiting radbmxshop and speaking with Stodgy, about my old school bmx which
has sat in the shed for the last 25 odd years covered in crap, i have pulled her out and taken a few photos.
I'm after some advice from you guys and gals, like a rough value and also how easy it would be to
restore it to its former gory! remember its been abandoned for the last 25 years!

Just blowing the dust of her has brought back so many good memories:-)

I know its a Redline but have no idea on what model, if anyone can suggest how I find out , I would apprecate it!

Thanks for any help!

Not sure on the model but I would just give it a good clean and polish, its a nice looking survivor :daumenhoch:

Ps the Jmc bars are worth a few quid though ;)

thanks guys, carrera does ring a bell and 1982 is about right.  judging by the comments, the JMC bars are worth a bit of money. :)

Dont think its a PL mate, plus those forks are akisu, not redline, can you measure the head tube where the forks attach to the frame? If they are close to 5" then it is a PL, if closer to 4" then maybe an MX 2 or 3

Thanks RATTY, head tube mesures to 4 inches, so maybe mx 2 or mx 3, the forks have 'Tange' on the bottom.  what a grt site!

Could the forks be Tange ARX?

Is tange stamped on the end of the fork legs or is it blank?

Great bike, just needs a good clean to sort it     :daumenhoch:
