Possible to dye coloured tyres?
« on: April 08, 2012, 11:40 AM »
So supposing a random Old Skooler, could be anyone ::), got hold of some nice tyres for free but in a hideous colour, could they be dyed black, or even a much darker version of the original colour?

Cheers, I'll be sure to pass on the information to myself the random Old Skooler.
I might just have a look for some other option, ie chemicals that could darken plastics etc.

What colour are the tyres then?  ;)  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

don't forget there is a world beyond us that might just ride any tire and not worry if the colour doesn't match or if it's gum wall or skin or coloured - i think it's called real life  ??? not sure as i haven't been there in a long time  ;D

would ebay not be a good place to sell them and then buy old school bmx parts with the money to keep you happy ?  ??? ;)

No, I got them for free so I'll use them - I think they'll be ideal for winter commuting, just prefer them to not be so bright pink  ;D

No, not Old Skool at all - 26" Halo Twin Rail tyres that I plan to use on my OM Flyer [daily commuter bike] next autumn/winter.

you could do the walls with hypalon flexi paint, leaving just a 1/2" strip in pink on the running surface, we used to use it on inflatable boats, will probably cost more than the tyres though,

Man up and ride the pink!!!
