Curtis exp skinny! My first build
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:58 PM »
I got an Exp frame missing the forks!! Wanted to build my old race bike but better if you know what i mean!!????

so i sold mine to get a mtb for £60 in the late 80's early 90's! :) then had to shell out 6£65 just for a frame and thats where the start of me emptying my bank acc started  :LolLolLolLol:

so some pics!!

Last night fresh from the chromers and with what felt like 100's of ebay parcles lol

BB and rear calliper fitted! I chose the night my old man stripps out his awesome work bench to "improve it" lol wonder where i get it from!! lol

Mx 320 fitted to Landing gears as could not find curtis forks!! I know the frame behind has some but well another day!!

Love it love it. love those skinny wheels, tell me are they just normal rims with super skinny tyres or do you have to shell out a whole heap of cash on rims too?

Great job, bet you cant wait for your next build now

I like that a lot, but if you are going with the whole weight saving route with skinny wheels and campy brake then I would go with a set of alloy cranks i.e. Campagnolo or T.A.'s.

However it really is a lovely build so great work.  :4_17_5:

Nice work there. :daumenhoch:  As others have said, riding with that seat post could snap the frame.

Looks kind of freaky with the seatpost that high  ;D

cheers guys thanks for the compliments!!

Its just a build of bits i had or wanted bitd.

Jaymz the wheels are ukai 1 1/8" and yeah u need tyres to match as they are bigger than a 20" even though they are still classed as a 20"

Ok the seat post is a little high lol!! wanted it to be comfy to ride!! it looked wrong first try so have dropped it a bit but sounds like i may have to drop it more!! looks like it will have to be legs round ears!!

or i could just ride the floval instead

I got the floval at mk and just got some skyways for it and remover the front brake n reflectors!!

Oh and put pads on and some skin wall comp 3's the only thing to roll with also got twin pinch flights to go on when i get a bb!

So thats the pub bike and then when i wana get more serious ive got this i built some time ago to cover more distance!

Just noticed the seat hight seams to run through all bikes!! lol
