PK Ripper variants?

We all know there have been a few but can we sort them out? people keep asking....

First one is easy the 78/9 to 85 loopy...


Second is the straight stay integrated clamp 85 till when? i don't think they ran it long but SE pretty much closed shop in the late 80's.


*****Is there another one here? With tapered stays but without the bulldog mount?*****
If so does anyone have a picture and any idea of dates?

Next came the bulldog with the inch threaded forks. Years anyone?



I think there's a bulldog with inch and 3/8th fork? any one have a pic again?

Now i've seen another variant which has cable guides on the top and down tubes but can't remember anything else about it.

I had all this sorted out in my head at one time with dates and all but have had so many spanners thrown into the werks that the nerd in me is again fishing for answers.

What i'm looking for is other versions and dates of manufacture or if you had one of them new over the years can you remember when you got it?

the nicest one yet is the current one
-the team version, not the cheeeeper one
-note cast boxed fluted giblets, to behind seat tube and lower area - nice
-this is an 05 with the new gusset
-the old style gussets go in 04 - ie that blue one above, must be a 05-but not a team one, the rear se stamped in the seat post tube sticky outy bit, plus still using the old style triangleat the bottom bracket
-these differences are in the 06 -ordinary and 'team' pk's

-pk trivia, when were the internal headsets introduced?

also i'd like to know the variants of the race incs - ie, the loop tail race incs - cos just how close is the yellow frame to a race inc - ie is it just a race inc, with a squished fatter tube, and the gusset the off cut from the squished up tube?

No canti lugs . . . tapered rear stays and 1" threaded LG's

general bike trivia, could help dateum, as  i am sure i read somewhere that redline were the first manufacturer to use a non threaded fork, unsure on year
-also, it would be an idea to find out when the canti brake first came on the market!

i think standard came out with the threadless forks. they invented the 1 1/8th i'm sure

2006 PK Ripper Team similar to the 2005 team model except top tube is now 21.25" long instead of 20.5"
excuse the mess waiting for parts to arrive from US so that i can build it up

hmm, so from what i have so far they ran the straight stays from 85 till they updated to the tapered in 92. They didn't make many frames in that time for sure though.

But is there a bulldog frame with inch and an eighth headset?

Straight chainstay rippers ran for only one year between 85-86, then they updated the backend in 86 to the flaired chainstay 1 inch headset model. I believe they ran this until around 91/92, when they introduced the inch and an eighth. Hope this helps?

The all steel version was a snide

it was 94-95 rad mag did a test on the 1" pitbull ripper
and called it the all new ripper from se.it was a good
test made me buy one. it got replaced 95-96 with 1"8.
that round top tube one is nice its a lot like my race inc.
