Old school headsets
« on: August 11, 2010, 10:25 PM »
Hi, I have a mid school frame that I am trying to make old school and the head tube is approx 40mm Dia.
The problem is the Tioga headset I have bought is too small.  :-[ Can I get bigger old school headsets, or are they
all one size?

Thanks

Paul

:) Old school headtubes are for a 1!" threaded steerer whereas late mid/new are 1 1/8 threadless. You can buy reducer cups

if the frame and forks are 1 1/8th then i'd just use one of those, as they're far supior to a 1" threaded headset......easy to install and never normally go loose, threaded headset suck in comparison  :daumenhoch:
