Survivor or Re-chrome?
« on: August 08, 2010, 05:42 PM »
Got an idea for a build for this and a re-chrome would obviously really top it off but I like the idea that the frame has a bit of history and even though the chrome isn't great anymore it's orginal.

The forks are in much better condition than the frame as you can see by the pics

The question is leave as is or send off for some bling?

Hmmm.. I'm coming round to the idea of nice survivor bikes nowadays  :daumenhoch:

..... but chewed dropouts still really get on my tits so I'd de-chrome, dress 'em up and rechrome  ::)

Just hand over the forks Dale  :police:

If there's no repairs , noticeable dings or bad nickel-ing  , just sticker it and get it built fella  ;)

Love my chrome   Nora's  8)

I think Dan can powder over chrome if you fancy a colour Dale and then no harm done if you want the chrome back later just strip off the powder.
Why oh why do I still buy kids bikes!

Autosol will strip that chrome in far to few polishes

you need to clean the chrome first, and then polish

my favourite is wonder chrome, then peek

Wonder chrome really cleans without taking away the chrome and peek will remove scrathes without mullering the chrome unlike autosol

clean it and gently polish out the scratches gently, you will be amazed what a bit of elbow will do

Cheers lads, it's looking better already with a bit of work so if I can get some other chrome cleaner too and give it a bit more work i'll be happy  :daumenhoch:
