I have a bit of a soft spot for these american POS

1985 Huffy Pro Racing 50, weighs next to nothing, shimano coaster brake all original when i bought it

bought from ebay for £12 and looked like this

arrived with me like this

currently looks like this

Stil has original sticker from the manufacturer

It's sat at the moment waiting for me to put on a sweet set of KKT AMX pedals in gold a longer crank, layback seat post, mushroom grips, and a set of pads, will post new pics on completion

in her finished state

Mid/late 90's Huffy, model unknown, interesting frame made me buy it, frame made from scaffold poles i swear but still lighter than my M80, currently has upgraded tektro brakes and chrome wellgo 1/2 pedals and a vader pink saddle, along with repro mushroom grips

this is how it arrived with me

this is it now as my gf's daily rider

2003 M80 Cory 'Nasty' Nastazio Signature Edition Pro

My dirt track rider, takes a good beating and gets back up and asks for more

cromo frame, tektro brakes, blank saddle, stolen bar ends, snafu pedals

how it arrived with me

and how it stands today, a little grubby i know

And my Raleigh Wildcat

I wanted a burner, but got a wildcat instead!! Some mock the little wildcat, but with its flexy mags and odd top tube angle, i think it has potential

this is how i bought it [i'd already stripped the plastic from it and forgot to take pics] this is how it looked. Lord knows what the previous owner was thinking with at Karin seatpost and selle royat seat! although it is damn comft

First mods

White wall tyres, white dia comp copy levers and white cables. Also found in my parts box an old polygon brake set in black and a generic one in black too, so they went on to replace the chrome ones. Changed the grips to my original 1985 ones from my huffy as i had to cut the old ones off to get the brake lever off. and added a set of dice valve caps. and cut most of the bracket off the back

waiting on my SR stem and bars from a Raleigh Styler, white chain and pedals

and here she is looking all sultry on the skate park

update time:

Took delivery of a box of goodies this afternoon so went straight to a trial fit. Wow, because of the angle of the top tube the bars look massive. . . . and i love it. It's such a comfy position to ride in, and loving the twin top bars, waited 24years for those! Also in the box was a stem, initially i was going to spray it black, but it was in such nice condition i've started to polish it up, [my first ever attempt] I sprayed it black first then preceded to rub down removing the black in the pitting, leaving the sr black!! I got down to 1200 grit before it got to dark to play out side any more!!! cap heads to do tomorrow and a lot of nitro mors on those bars!!

enjoy the pics

Wow!  Need to pull those bars back a touch, like that will make the steering twitchy but good for wheelies  :D

New pedals arrived today, much to my disappointment I' bought mini pedals in my drunk ebaying session. BUT offered them up and hey ho they look pretty cute, also built bike back up as need a daily rider as the dog likes to run beside me, found in the shed my sons unused GT saddle we swapped for a DMR one so wrangled that selle royal one off and jimmied the GT one one, it's comfy slightly bulky, but i do ride for miles on my bikes

few pics for your delectation

the mrs's dog approves

half polished half not!

fat ar5ed comfy seat

looking into ditching the mags for a set of spokes, so maybe looking for a cheap as chips non branded unexciting straight rims, px or swap set of bernardi mags

Thank you, I couldn't see the old girl go to waste, I saw way too much potential, still a way to go with her: paint, new rear cable, grips, spider and chain ring and finally wheels

Picked up a bmx i won on ebay a few weeks ago, the chap kindly held it for me til now! It's a specialized fatboy vegas, I only bought it for the wheels, as i've never really liked the bernardi mags, and they have a slight wobble. and a few of the other bits are going on my other rider and some bits are going on a mates bike.

So i know have a set of X rims C303 by Alex to go on the project, not top spec or race strong but light! and not nos or old skool but laced to some nice specialized hubs, they are true and spin like a dream, cleaned them up quickly [spokes need more work]

Butchered the specialzed this morning!!! Got the wheels on and changed the chain wheel [to get a more grown up feel to pedaling, used to top out at very low speeds]

Scored on the grips from fleebay, bought a £3 set of mushroom repro's and got a set of diamondback ones with black bar ends worth over double, oh happy mistakes by the packing department!!

also fitted a brand new rear brake cable

few more pics to the already pic heavy thread!

FROM THIS although mine never looked that good

the butchered remains of the speciazed!!

New white chain to fit and some paint on the bars and we are nearly there i think, god i'm having fun!!

Cheers! I happy with it for now, this is just the wet and dry finish,  I'll be investing in a buffing wheel soon, then the little bugger will shine
