I've had this late 85 stamped GT Pro Series F&F hovering in the loft for a long time now awaiting it's transformation into a replica of mine. I called it the Lurker cos it stayed all covered up for most of it's time in my hands to protect the lovely survivor chrome and original decals. Admittedly I've been focusing mainly on my Kuwahara builds for MK so I haven't quite got to where I wanted to on this build.
Today it finally broke cover for some pics...
...before it's final transformation into what I had bitd:
I dragged the GT off to a local track for some pics so I could capture it in all it's original glory before I pull the decals off and replace them with the '86 decals like I did when I was a kid - I know some would weep at the prospect but I'm building a replica here - I guess I'm also stalling as so far I can't bring myself to do it to this frame...yet
- anyway these are for your enjoyment as she is dressed for MK10:
During the build of The Lurker it always looked like it arrived:
Out in the sunshine in true BMX Plus photo shoot style glory:
I love these old mid 80's GT bikes - they just look so racy - sleek and on the prowl.
I've a few bits to change to get it to a more accurate replica of mine - I guess I'll add to this thread as that happens. Right now I'm enjoying this bike as it is and the memories it's stirring.
Off to MK10 on sunday to show her off.
