Hoffman flash
« on: July 30, 2010, 11:42 AM »
I bought a hoffman flash xl frame from James(voivod) in january, spent all tuesday night nitromorsing the frame ready for a re- powder and was just scanning the net for some decals for it when I found a brand new 97 XL in chrome at winstanleys for £49.99(last one aswell). Thats going to be cheaper than the re-powder and new decals so I snapped it up 8). This was the last bike I wanted just before I packed in riding.

Far out, that's less than half of what I paid for mine, although I did get a 96 and the seller was a TV star at the time and he did throw in a set of NOS Hoffman pads too.

Good score, get some pics up when you have a chance.  What bars are you running on yours, I have Hoffman Maxi Light Bars  :daumenhoch:

Picked the frame up last night, I doubt its a 97 cos ive never seen theses decals on a flash before. The shipping label is still on the box from backyard and it was sent 22/06/1999. The forks are in a superforks box inside the main box but they are the race forks and the chain tugs and warranty card are still sealed in their original bag. The bars are patriots, they are abit over 8" tall and 28" wide and need a polish as they dusty.

All that you see cost £64.98. Bargain city. Apparently it was lost while they were moving premises and mixed in with other stuff. Got to powder (colour????) and decal my other flash which I think is the same year as this one - integrated seat post clamp and similar serials.

The sticker is slightly peeling on one side which is a shame.

I will build and ride the other flash and leave this one in the box for now. The colours on the side of the box are showing cp(chrome plate obv) and anodise white(but its not alloy)? Were white and chrome the colours that year, cos when i stripped the other frame it was a pearlescent white underneath the whit that had been painted over it?

;)  Lookin` good.Think the Flash you got from me was 96/97? It came with Primo race cranks but I sold them to The Captain-they were also stamped 97.
