Rust removal on non chrome raw frame.

Hi,whats the best and quickest remover of rust on a rawed frame(previous owner going for the rat look!)I've read about the vinegar,coke etc regarding chromed parts.Do these methods still apply to a raw frame?cheers Gary

Should work just fine mate - or fully submerse it in a tub filled with vinegar or water mixed with citric acid powder - safe and effective

B careful I have had problems with using vinegar . I.e. 2 clean up some drop outs I stuck the fork legs in jam jars full of vinegar . Did the job I wanted great but the only draw back was it left a micron deep line around the forks where the top of the vinegar was. I can only assume it was some sort of electrolitic action  with exposure 2 the air

  Glad you told me that as i was about to leave the headtube in a bucket of vinegar to see how it worked!

Yours is a bare frame so Steves "bleaching" of the chrome won't effect you 

Personally with that frame I would go full submersion in a big tub with citric acid powder mixed with water - very effective, cheap and safe 

And if you get the food grade citric acid powder you can make some nice desserts with whats left

Going to try this one myself, bit more expensive but no messing about trying to figure out the mix
