Removing dia compe brake rub from lavvy tuffs

Just attempting to tidy up the tuffs from the weekends ride, and is taking an age to get rid of the brake rub.

I've been using a stanley knife blade (very carefully) to lift off any that I can, then using astonish oven cleaner (light abrasive) with water, to remove any access, making sure I don't discolour the tuff.

This is the result thus far  ;D .....its a start!


Are there any other quick methods for removing the brake rub, as you can see I have a way to go, then the other side and then the other wheel, or shall I stick with what I'm doing and be patient?

I think you're doing it the right way paul, its a ball ache mate which is why I wouldn't use dark pads on em to begin with.  I've got some baby blue tuff pads you can have mate if that's any good to you?

I'll bring em to MK

Yeah deffo ball and finger ache Rob, they were minty tuffs as well.

No worries re the pads though, I've got some purple tuff pads........but didn't use em up front, doh :crazy2:

Lesson learned!

I used 2000 grit wet and dry papaer to remove the black brake rub from my yellow tuffs.
