we have a survivor
« on: July 04, 2010, 07:36 PM »
last weekend i was at a family party and there was a mate i hadnt seen since leaving school. the subject quickly turned to bmx ::) when his wife chipped in that she had a bmx...and still had it at her mams house, well ive been phoning all week and finally this evening i called round to see it...the frame was made by our local bike shop b.p cycles which closed down in about 1984, so i dont think there will be many of these knocking about, its got tange forks, dcmx  seat clamp(rrrrresult)nice fluted seatpost, itm stem(never heard of it, does anybody know about them) the bars are probably cw copies i wont know until i strip it, the wheels dont look up to much and the rest of the parts are copies, oh the chainwheel and spider look pretty tidy though.the frame has tear drop tubing with no cracks or dings, just a bit of rust..its not a classic but i spent half of my youth in that bike shop so it brings back some fond memories, and its probably the first one youve seen or will ever see so must be worth a small fortune :D
i got it for fook all ....happy days

nice1 gaz :daumenhoch:

had a similar looking frame bitd but that was stickered up  Stratton originaly,   same dropouts , brake bridge with strengthening tube  thingy, and tear drop down tube , aero shape akisu forks though, so i assume the frame was  akisu to, there were a few about with different stickers on, still nice score for nowt   :daumenhoch:
