The one you've all not been waiting for
« on: July 03, 2010, 09:09 AM »
Ok guys and gals, a month or so ago I put up this Motobecane MX400  frame and forks asking if anyone knows much about them and whether to restore or leave survivor state...well survivor was most popular so I duly obliged and have left it as it was and have tried to use parts that are used too...im pretty happy with it too...maybe change a few things as time goes by or they come up for sale...usually when you see one of these they are using blue parts all over (as it came from the factory) but I thought I would be different and pick up on the red on the decals rather than the blue :)...let me know what you think...be brutal if you feel the need,im sure its not to everyones tastes ???.

Motobecane MX400 frame.
Tange ARX forks
Takagi opc
Sugino spider and 45t chainring
VP pedals
CW copy bars (until i find some nice "espace type bars")
Formos Tuf Neck copy stem
Generic headset and cheapie headset lock
Ame rounds
Dia Compe 901 brakeset/cables etc
Mirage numberplate and various decals
Generic layback seat post
MX seat clamp
Jaguar seat
Unkown wheeelset with comp 111 type Duro tyres

[

Im sure a few of you will tell me to lose the front brake but seeing as the french national champ ran one on his MX400 when he raced it I reckon its good enough for me to leave it on ;D

I missed your earlier thread on this, I'll have to go and have a read.
Don't know anything about them but it's a good looking frame 8)

the welding is not bad in places matey...in some places like the gusset etc and brace on rear it almost looks like it is brazed as it is nearly impossible to see the joins :)

It's got some quality there then 8)
Well worth looking after. Looks like maybe a few of their earlier models came with DX cranks.

The more I look at it the more I like it :daumenhoch:
