seat post help
« on: June 29, 2010, 06:45 PM »
Got a 90's assassin frame and it measures 22.2 across the seat tube hole, but when i put the 22.2 post in it's like a cock up an alley way and won't tighten

any help?  does it require a special size?  Jai.....any advice?  :daumenhoch:

Both mine took a 22.2, try the seatclamp the other way round as the split is at the front

tried it the other way but A. didn't like the look and B. it would pinch the frame tube to tighten it that much so was not the correct size post.

so you can get 22.6 then  ???

i think it was something like 22.6(it was a Hutch Hi-caliber post that would'nt fit ANY Hutch frames i've got)and you could see the slight taper where the seat guts clamped on,so the majority of the post was obviously larger diameter.

i have gone down the pepsi can shim road for the moment, but i also have a TNT twin bolt clamp on the way over from the states so should be better for clamping with the reversed slot style seat tube  :daumenhoch:
