"Hollywood" Mike Miranda Launches His 2010 ZX Signature Series Race Kit At The Vintage BMX Rockford IL Event

This Race Kit was featured as a tribute for his contributions to the sport and his legacy to the History of CW Racing; the set is composed of Frame, Fork, Handlebar, Seat Post And Pad Set in a signature display box.

The ZX series is 100% US Made and consists of a limited edition run of 50 sets with the Hollywood Signature Series and an additional 50 sets with regular factory decals; The first 50 sets will be offered in Chrome, Black Chrome, Candy Cherry Red Chrome, Candy Blue Chrome, And Brassy Gold Chrome (It can also be custom powder coated by request at a lower price) and the frame serial number will display "Hollywood ###"; the additional 50 ZX series will be offered in powder coat colors only and their serial number format will be ZX###. Both models will be available for sale during the course of this summer.

Hollywood Mike Miranda has designed his first signature series and included several of the Revcore features, such as the high quality weld pattern, a machined head tube and bottom bracket, seat mast reinforcement and knurling, the frame and fork also have super thick dropouts for maximum strength.

The final price for these race kits has not been published yet but once they become available there will be a waiting list registration form at the www.cw-racing.com site.

These sets will be offered with a full year warranty.

On a serious note, I wish you guys the best of luck with this venture; I think they will make great riders or collectables so the best of both worlds  :daumenhoch:.

No chance of some CW Freestyle bars is there?  The early ones with the high cross-bars?   :D

Looks like a tinted lacquer or similar over chrome  ??? .

I'm liking the chrome with red decals  :) . Anyone know if these are modern or OS geometry ?? ( look OS ) .

Mmm, can't see why on earth they have put Revcore anywhere near this, Revcore was Revcore and CW was CW (apart from the CW 'Revcore' hub of course which spawned the brand name).

Nice though, typical Hollywood! However the definitive CW signature bike had to be the Pistol Pete so why not do a PP sig and do a Hollywood Hutch re-issue instead?

Gotta agree with you there Clive  :daumenhoch:

Yeah, PP frame was pretty radical for it's day too with that seat tube angle! Funny Tim March told me recently he just used the CW Shawn Texas frame to copy for the original MRD. I can't even remember a ST sig model but hey ho!

Not many people will remember the DP Charlie Reynolds signature frame, that was just a rip of the PP frame but made of cheese and painted neon pink.......

Nope, they must have only made a handful as Charlie was definitely in his twilight years then so demand would have been miniscule! It was exactly the same geometry as a Pistol but with DP's, er, hmm, legendary build quality! ;D

I'll ask him is he still has one knocking about, slim chance but you never know...

I guess Voris still owns all that considering he did that modern VDC monstrosity........However has he got international patents for those designs ever or still current? I doubt it so I reckon you could do some bars but then everyone will moan as they're repopped......

He pops up every once in a while like Peter Pan (I can't say he has aged a year in the last twenty). I'll see if I can track him down, he goes into my uncles bikes shop (Edwardes, Charlies old sponsor) regularly.

Would've preferred to see a modern CW frame (for racing on rather than collecting) based on classic CW lines.

They do look nice though.
