Recently I went riding in my local town, a place Ive ridden in for years, since about 92. I rode past a little stone and slate wall, covered in ivy, that I must have walked or ridden past a hundred million times... and I realised you could probably ride it...!
Intead of my usual " go and look, smooth the area, make it safe " approach, I just went at it ... I had to carve behind a tree, where there is a nice little hump to use as a launch, and then air about 4 feet to then get onto the wall - and it worked second try [ first time I slid off the wall!]
The wall has a slope to it that goes away form you, so it is great to ride on, and the landing is grass which hurts less on my old f@cked wrists.
Local snapper Jacob Gibbins came to take a pic or two the other day when I went back, the redults of which follow. now I have it down, the plan is to do it much higher and longer, and get fufuanus and tyre taps etc on the top of the wall as you can also ride at it straight on and tyre tap the wall instead of carving behind the tree.
Never had so much fun on my bike - I love BMX!

This is the low cautious wall ride... Notice the dust inthe background where the launch is. Wish it looked as big as it felt when doing it - quite scary at first!
Then this is another a bit higher...
Then a fufanu - great fun
More when I go back next week for bigger and higher wall fun!!
