They look sweet :daumenhoch:
So what's the best way to prep a Tuff before dyeing?

Nice work  ;)

It is important to make sure they are throughly clean before you start ,
and with Alloy hubbed ones , I think a few people smear a bit of vaseline over the face of the hub to protect it  :)

I'm sure that's just for bleaching rims (nowt better than a bleached rim  >:D ) - the bleach corrodes the alloy so needs covering in some way but I don't think dye harms the alloy and grease/lube would just melt away as soon as the rims touched the hot water...

Is that RIT dye?  Someone on here dyed a set of Tuffs with Dylon and they came out navy blue.  :-\

Nice job BTW

I used 2 tubs of madonna blue dylon, was going to use 3 but as soon as the dye was in the water it went really dark so didnt put the 3rd tin in, I kept stirring the dye and turning the wheels over and changing them from top to bottom in the bucket every 15-20 mins or so over a period of 4 hours.

asked this before so i'll ask it while the topic i current does the dye penetrate into the wheel? so you dont get brake rub showing, fancied some red tuffs for a rider and was going to do a new white set, those look bob on  :daumenhoch: doo like blue tuffs  :daumenhoch:

Not sure how deep it penetrates but as there were blue originally these will be fine for a rider, white ones will dye red no prob's but I think the rims will soon go pink/white with brake wear.
