i know marty, had these going side by side, just had to wait for the chromers to finish bits off for both builds, hence finished at the same time....   well almost, just waiting for padset off firebird....

They both look well nice Sam  :4_17_5: :4_17_5:  makes a change seeing affordable old school from back in the day. I felt exactly the same when i did both my Halfords Turbos.

Both will be at MK also.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Nice Resto - good to see the early entry-level bikes making an appearance now, they really do tug the heart-strings when you see them.

Shoot me down, but I still love a Mk1 Super Burner just like my first BMX.

lots of fond memories for all then....  :)

i remember pedaling up to halfords in oldham town center (about 3 miles away) on my drop handlebar bike (sun super 5) just to stare at this bike through the window, i could not keep my eyes off it, i remember loving the blue tyres (never seen before on a bike) and yellow seat, the raliegh grifter next to it looked pre-historic...  this is what got me smitten on the bmx concept, and i was lucky enough to find this almost original bike in very good condition only a few weeks ago.... :smitten:

 its defo a keeper... ;)

:smitten: my first bmx think my old mums got a pick of me with it , still got the lesters , bomb proof,  posted up before when the last one was on here , mine had silver SR  stem on it rather than the goose neck, big  blue gnarler nobby tires chewed up the snow proper  :daumenhoch:   xmas 1980.  :smitten:

You have been busy Sam   :D

Great resto job on that , looks mint , love that Blue colour too  :daumenhoch:

Tbh I love bikes like these as they are the ones I can relate to as a kid so much more than the VDC and JMC stuff that people fall over themselves to comment on . I never saw a JMC or VDC in the flesh bitd .  :-[

It would be good to see a few more of the lower end bikes appearing on RAD imo  ???

It's been a good few days for you Sam , Two cracking builds and a new baby too , top work mate   :4_17_5:

Nice to see the grips went to a good home  ;)
WANTED : Old school BMX patches/sew on badges ......  please  :)
