cheers for the idea.
scanning the net found a couple of pugs that do look similar but nothing exact.
mentioned it to the guy who gave me the frame and the only memory he has is of a possible reynolds sticker on the seat tube. i believe peugeot used reynolds tubes in the 80s so could be a good shout.
cheers

I had a couple of pugs with reynolds tubing, aero down and cross bar and aero blade forks but the brake mounting wasnt the same as the one in the picture.

Yep looks like an acorn freeway the forks arent original on your frame if it is an acorn. BMX bi weekly, volume 4-issue 20, page 30.

guys, cheers for the help.
Matt special thanks for scanning the photo.
it does look very much like the acorn freeway with an odd set of forks. the only akisu i can find appears to have a lower bridge on the rear forks fitted so i am heading down the acorn path.
bet there is zero chance of finding decals for an acorn freeway?
Ron, you were right these guys are good!

life is never simple, just when you think you have all the answer.
JT,must admit that akisu looks close and the forks look to have the same profile and drop outs, cant see if they have the same rake from the picture.
think i will investigate akisu it bit more

the thing with akisu is, they were more of a manufacturer than a retailer/brand. many different brands of bmx used the standard stock made by akisu and some brands had there stuff made to their spec by the akisu factory. When i see that acorn saying made in england, i think maybe the decals were
because it's way too similar to be different. They are good quality chro-mo frames, the tig welded stuff anyway. When it's mig welded(big bubble gum welds) they are hi-ten steel instead of 4130.

it does have very neat tig welding and i would say better than that on my burner and goose
maybe never know exactly what it is, have built it up to ride around with odd bits
probably a bargan for £30 as it came with the mint old skyways now fitted to the gp
