Who was the Kid who jumped over them cars back in the early 80's. He was from the UK it was shown on record breakers. I'm sure it was over 10 cars on a BMX he had this really big ski jump like ramp to get his speed up. I have never seen anything on this since then.

Dale Goodwin was one of the guys who used to jump cars and was featured in BMX Action Bike No. 21.
He was from my old club Bradford Bandits

i got an issue of bmx racer and freestlye today from the 80's and there's a page in it on Carl Couch who attempted 10 but only managed 8.
he was only 14

From what I remember it was deffinatly 10 cars can't really remember much else I was quite young at the time.

Andy Preston jumped a few ,about four or five on record breakers ,I think it was the gays only record though.

Yeah he did and he had to go and talk to the show host straight away and he was in agony.

i remember dale goodwin doing that,when he landed he smacked his gob on the bars then surprise,surprise,the t.v presenter wanted to interveiw him,he just looked at the camera with a gob full blood.classic.

i think he was there with his mum!bless him.

This sounds like the guy who tried a record attempt at Bovingdon Aerodrome in Herts, only that guy bottled it and didn't jump but the tv cameras were there and he was under pressure but went for the "its too windy", more like crapping himself; not that I would have done mind you, did loads stoopid stuff but wouldn;t have done that!

So what did happen to Chris Young?

the best car jump was a kid from australia. news at ten came down a massive ramp jumped about 10 cars .it was for his
brother who was very ill. he was on a mongoose pro class it was brillant he crossed up in the air.happy days one of my mates taped it we watched it about 50 times.

I saw that one it was awesome he had more style than any big car jumper i have ever seen.

OK..... you can google chris young and read an interesting article about his recent situation, but to cut the story short he is/was a drug addict who funded his habit by stealing money from phone boxes. Such was his success at this he was named the most prolific thief in the country, and the investigation into his antics went nationwide.....
