A comment from someone sound...

Firstly, you'll probably find "hoodies" and skaters / BMX'ers are totaly different types of people.
Hoodies in the context of this article are trouble makers.
Skaters and BMXers are very skilled and focused and have an interest in something other than causing trouble.
The police are supposed to be respected (although they generaly arent) wouldn't they be better going to hang out with the skaters looking like a grown up policeman on a grown up policemans bike (mabe a mountain bike)?
You dont have to dress like them to get a rapport with them, just watch their tricks, be suitably impressed when they do some gravity defying trick and take an interest in them.

Any policeman who could be bothered could go to a skate park, get to know the kids, take an interest and become a trusted and respected, these kids are just human beings after all!

What a waist of our money ::)  Kids who ride BMX just ride BMX mostly, chavie little twats tent to ride around on any bike they can get hold of doing bow leged wheelies up the street  ;D   maybe the police should knock a ghetto ride up with odd sized wheels and maybe no tyers on the rear rim,, i've seen it for me self ;D twoc a few cars to get in with 'the hoodies'  ::)

Police, much like politician, are mostly vastly out of touch with most things in every day life ::)

:LolLolLolLol:    already logged on to Bumblebee , they should go cheap "selection of good condition boys cycle's"  :LolLolLolLol:, the poor sods are just gona get laughed at by the people they're supposed to be interacting with, ie the so called "hoodies"  , fook imagine the first ten mins of conversation if they tried to "interact" with a bunch of us 40+'s   :LolLolLolLol:, all respect for the law and the job the officers have been told to do,   but realy? mountain bikes yes no problem with that, in fact a couple of bobby's that have pulled me for being a "hoodie" have had realy nice Kliens, and the fact that the bike was a conversation starter was a good thing ,the fact they new nothing about the bikes or that i was older than both of them didn't seem to impress em much,   but on a badly set up bmx i think i would have had trouble taking them on board, certainly little billy joe  twunt would be laughing about it for weeks

Bars too far back, droopy, poorly adjusted chain...complete lack of skillz...

and much as I like my BMX's, my GT chucker MTB/jump would piss all over them for speed, so that argument is crap too...

oh well, at least someone is promoting BMX.
