mid school hub axles
« on: April 27, 2010, 09:46 PM »
I'm in the process of rebuilding a @98 haro zippo as a master copy and am having a problem on wheel axle sizes.
current wheels appear to be about 12mm or 1/2" wheel axles & obviously dropouts are same size.
most wheels i see are 3/8" or 10mm & i cant seem to find any axle convertors .

any ideas anyone please.
thanks

yeah haro went through a weird stage of doing 12mm stuff, dunno if you will be able to get any converters but should work fine in a 14mm slot

sorry, i'm going the other way ie. 10mm wheels in a 12mm dropout.
just seem a bit too much play

You could try to get those washers with the little sleeves on?

oh right, well you might be able to get you hands on some 10mm tubing and chop it up, if not ive run 10mm in 14 slots before and not had a problem (not ideal tho)

yeah as stated, Haro used 12mm drop outs on their forks......send SE-Bmxer a PM as he might have some 12mm washers for the forks  :daumenhoch:

failing that, you can get the 14mm alloy top hat washers and rub them down with a file  :daumenhoch:
