Pro Class
« on: April 28, 2010, 07:08 PM »
Hi

Does anyone know the correct term or shade of chrome you should ask for at your local chrome dealers if you want your pro class that black/grey chromey finish.

Mine is proper chrome coloured and I always wanted the black one so want to get it re done.

Thanks in advance.

Think it's called 'Black chrome '   :-\

A guy on here used to replicate this finish by spraying a smoke laquer over the top of a chrome frame  ;)  think the lad was FHMreader but might be wrong .

He may have done it eventually but I did this technique originally about 5 years ago to my Pro Class, tinted lacquer over a chrome frame.

This is (was) my Pro Class with the tinted lacquer finish.  Notice the subtle brown shading in the tint.

Nice job Sean  :daumenhoch:   Bike is a stunner  :smitten:

I did search on here before and it was Spen's Pro Class that FHMreader did :

Hope you don't mind me using your pic Spen  :D

From what I can gather from old threads on here it seems expensive to have it done at a platers , so maybe this is the way to go  :-\

Sorry boyz, I was sleeping..... :LolLolLolLol:

Mark "FHMreader" on here did both my Pro-Class frame and fork sets and was very sensible money. He owns Imprezziv Finishes in Darlington and is a top fella, so try getting in touch with him through here on PM, or I can try and dig out his number for you. He sprays a tinted laquer over the chrome and it looks amazing - I think everyone at MK saw it last year at some point :smitten:

Sadly I don't own either one of these any more...... :'( :uglystupid2: but here's the blue one:

And here's the black one:

Yes, every man should have 2 Pro-Classes.......

I still have the custom Mini-Class (based on a US full chromo Minigoose) that Neil N2Cus did for me which is a slightly different shade but the same principle :coolsmiley:

Still limping......
