dyeing grips, rit vs dylon- results, not good now

Going to have a whirl at dyeing some blue grips black,
but whats best, dylon or rit dye?  :daumenhoch:

Rit no question, it costs a fraction of the cost of Dylon (if you can still find it) & it works much better  :daumenhoch:

still can't see any dye yet that will penetrate the rubber to dye them properly ,you gotta remember that when rubber goes into the mold it is a liquid already and in that colour :-\

i done these with dylon.
aint tried that rit yet but think i'd go for that next time as the lads say is good.

So is plastic, the dye does soak right into the rubber because the rubber is porous   :daumenhoch:

Right decided to give RIT a go




Boiled water, let simmer, added the Rit (all of it!!) couple of t-spoons of salt and in they went for 20 mins


washed off with cold water

I had my hands on some grips that had been dyed and my hands were black as fcuk after

you got it right there  ::)

after a few weeks the black dye has soaked into the grey sleeves and turned em dark green.
