after looking at them, the new ones have the same spoke design as the tuff 2's,the ones that you have the design of the mk 1's but i only ever saw mk 1's with a coaster??

i think they are not made specificly for bmx...they are a utility wheel that can be used on anything as a cheap alternative...like a rad pram for your little uns, or a tricked out wheelchair, for riding the vert

From what i can make out they were made because Skyway have to pay a percentage to the tuff wheel designer for every wheel.

Definitely utility wheels (Wheelchairs, etc) Looking at the Skyway site, they do coasters for them (but not Tuff III it seems). I also notice they're now doing disc brake versions too. That would get round the dodgy braking, all they need to do is make them stiffer.
