Well not really as all three of the manufacturers you mention have never stopped making those products in one form or another so they are not technically "re-pops".

There are a wide range of other parts that are definitely re-pops, Hutch Pedals, a variety of bars, frames, forks, cranks.  I don't ever recall seeing MX1000's but heaps of copies just like bitd and not many seat clamps other than the Tuf Neck/CyclePro/Excaliber style that have also been around from day one.

Also what needs to be taken into account is; is an item repopped if said item is made by the same manufacturer?

What I think is;
repop - reproduced by someone other than the manufacturer (biaggio aerospeeds)
repro -  reproduced by the manufacturer (profile cranks)

fake = repop;
All Johnny Chopper stuff is exact copies without identifiers - quality yes, but exact copy non the less
babelovely's tat on ebay, shite

JC actually stamped all of his copies, even his seat posts are stamped with JC but alas he is no more in production and never has JC attempted to sell any of his products as the genuine article so don;t fall into the "fake" category.

Copies of stuff have been around from the dawn of BMX, some companies bitd only ever made copy stuff such as Landar and most AMERICAN manufacturers endorsed the copy stuff bitd by putting it on their production bikes; people like Hutch and GT to but two.

Ive got JC cranks - not marked in any way at all.  not even length

Yeah, you have new school Stoker cranks, not even meant to be a copy of anything; use a 48 spline 19mm regular new school bb.

The BaiggioSpeeds though are definite fakes, not repops but fakes  ;).  A contentious subject this and open to plenty of debate....

Arent they exact copies oh first gen hutch/profile cranks?

I don't beleive they are, they may look similar but I don't beleive they are the same.  I'll ask Gary when I next chat to him  :daumenhoch:.

S&M Mk1 Holmes 1" frame and forks was made again last year, exact replica of the old one ..... or was it that there was just a 20 year pause in production?
