85 Acorn Magnum Freeway mini freestyler resto (Pic Heavy!)
« on: November 18, 2015, 05:46 PM »
Picked this up a while ago as I fancied something to tinker with that wasn’t going to break the bank....... fat chance 

85 Acorn Magnum Freeway mini freestyler frame and forks
Acorn seatpost
NOS Aeroyal mini seat
NOS Odyssey seat clamp
NOS Lee Chi callipers
Odyssey locking levers
OG Uni Hand grenade grips
SR MS-423 freestyle stem
Acorn Thun stamped crank
Tioga spider
NOS Sugino 40t Chain ring
Tioga 24tpi BB
Victor pedals
Izumi Chain
Acorn mini wheels – rebuilt
OG Tiger 16t freewheel - rebuilt
OG Cheng Shin snake belly tyres

I stripped it wanting to keep the original chrome, but after some serious citric acid and peek action it was fairly obvious that it was fooked as the original chrome was shite to begin with......

I resurrected as many of the original parts as I could then decided to go for a root through the depths of the man cave and see what I had knocking about whilst I was waiting for the frame and forks to come back from SBD.......

I managed to get what was left of the decals off and somehow Del worked his magic on them and sorted me out replacements.  Frame came back from SBD and following a few trips to ebay and a bit of help from Andy (DTTDB) sourcing the spider and it was ready to throw together.......

Came out alright ;)  Pictures don’t do justice to the quality of Dan’s powder coating skills.

Might hang it on the wall....... probably do what I always do and flog it...... fun’s in the tinkering for me.
Bert
