im restoring a set of cranks and want some spraying tips, ive put 3/4 coats of primer on them and left to dry for 24 hours, they could do with another couple of coats, do i flat them now or after ive put the extra coats on and then again before the finishing coats of gloss, nice1 gaz :daumenhoch:

I would flat them now that they are dry and then again after the extra coats.  Also flat between the coats of finishing coats and clearcoat.

 Strip the forks that is,not get naked!

been on the cans myself for the 1st time this wknd some haro bars of the cheap mirra i got have had a repaint,sanded them down to raw bit of primer let it dry then gave it a light rub down, and a have put on a few coats of black they are looking much better,gave them a light spraying of primer,and used halfords black satin paint,ive got the bug for this now.

This technique saves any clothing from overspray & feels good on a day like it was today  :daumenhoch:

Don't do any oven pride work like this though !  :LolLolLolLol:

it's all in the prep for the final finish, on tubular work i just flood it with primer,

a couple of good wet coats and you've built up enough thicknes to flat the hell

out of it till it's smooth as silk then a couple of top coats and it should look as

smooth and sweet :daumenhoch:

ps.. dont worry about runs in the primer, look at it as thicker paint and it will fill

any marks once you've flatted it out  ;)

dan whats the best way for getting paint off,spent a good hour with wet and dry getting the bars to raw,is there an easier way.
