pk project
« on: April 06, 2010, 04:35 PM »
i bought this frame and forks from steve p earlier this year and have now started to put some clothes on it.
the idea is to build it close to how i had one in 82/83.
first off we have a mint DC 1000 and seat clamp

next came the tange headset and nos suntour stem

the troxel seat and powerwing bars also came from steve

next up will be black alloy hubbed tuff 2s that i'm giving a going over at the moment and some 185 mm 401s, the original had a uni seat not a troxel but the one i have is a bit rough so until i get a good one it will have to do.
the original also had race inc forks but i gonna stick with the landing gear and change the decals on them to black.

hope you like
andy

Always love the white with blue decals  :smitten:

There was a lad who used to race at my local track with that colour combo...... :4_17_5:

Get it finished fella  :daumenhoch:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

That'll look good when it's finished Andy. Carefull it's not similar in colour to anyone elses though otherwise the build police will pull you up sharpish.

I also hope once built you'll thrash it to fook. :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

ok not updated this for a while, but as some of you would have seen it being given some stick around the track at MK, here it is more or less finished.
the seat has now been changed to an Elina and the seat clamp to a twin bolt DC

many thank to those that helped in this build
stevep-frame/forks
woody-185mm flights/seat
zippy-workspace in his shop
spen69-for the use of his facilitie at MK when i destroyed the rear cones in the skyway and Jai for finding me new ones in the back of his van  :daumenhoch:
the wife-for putting up with me
and all for their comments on it at MK

not only does she look sweet, she rides sweet as well, only just cleaned the track dust off from MK

thanks for all the nice comments guys  :daumenhoch:

forgot to say that i was lucky enough to find the proper SE black 4 piece rear dropout savers at MK which if you look closely you can see, they are the correct ones that would have come with the frame along with instructions on how to fit them as shown below
