Dave, gotta say, I wouldn't have touched a thing on the bike, just a quick clean-up and left it as a piece of history.
Sorry Dave, didn't have the full story there mate - you said in the first post that you were restoring his actual 'bike', so I assumed from that that is was complete...Yep, restore the fooker.
have a go at sorting the orig cages and if they don't look good then buy some new simples
seems like alot of work for a burner
