I remember some people used shimano mtb levers
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-1991-Shimano-XT-Brake-Levers_W0QQitemZ220574165145QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR?hash=item335b3ea899

I used them, they worked really good - loads of other riders had em too.  I hammered mine till they bent a little more away from my bars, broke one bending it too much, but I lucky for me I had a spare - but if you get it right it does work loads better.

I switched for a short while to ACS 7 levers but soon went back to Tech 77s.

Tech 77s.  :daumenhoch:

I used some Pitbull levers for a bit. They were very close to those shimano ones but they didnt feel as good as 77s so I changed back.

I used odyssey pitbull levers.

quality hinged clamp and would bend quite easily without breaking.
