Firebird Freestyler. SOLD NOW, money spent....boo!
« on: March 11, 2010, 08:15 AM »
Morning Fellas

It looks like i'm going to be selling my DP freestyler F+F

I obviously want as much as I can get for it, but don't want to look a right plonk by asking for an unattainable sum.

I've seen them on ebay go for upto £300, but they may be `bid up' (can't believe people do that!!!)

It has recently had new powder, which is better than the thick stuff the factory put on them, new decals. It has build marks which would probably t cut out. Also is a basic tioga/tange headset with a shimano lock nut (not a locking nut, just a hex one)

What do you reckon is a reasonable amount? I know people will say if unsure, put it on the auction, but i'd rather have honest advice from the people who know best!

I will be selling it on here later if I get some sense!!

Cheers

Mark M

You will always get more money if you sell it on Ebay but you have to be prepared to list it a couple of times maybe and stomach the cost.

If I was you i'd get some good pics, list it as DP FIREBIRD FREESTYLER OLD SCHOOL BMX, start the auction at £10 but have a reserve of £250 and see what happens... maybe go 9 days rather than 7.

Just hope some trendy from Bristol who wants a BMX to go with his fixie has got his wallet out

Hi

Mine was an early white one, you only got poor mans chrome for £69.00, white was £74, might have been £75, along time ago.

paint was shocking on the early ones, mine cracked around the BB tapping the cups in, brand new DP freestyler, first in the village, had sparky tape round the cups!!! covered it with 2 x sharp bb covers, 1 was mullered to fit the chain side of the 1 piece crank!!

Them were the days!!! ( I had hair then!!)

P.s. If youve a set of ladder bars to go with it on a good day you may double that
