Chains?
« on: March 13, 2010, 02:48 PM »
Chain snapped at the track this morning, so I'm on the look out for a new one. What is are my choices when it comes to searching for a good quality race chain?

Cheers

Bren

Have a word with Diggler, he sorted me out with a very nice hollow-link half link last week, at a very reasonable price. It looks pretty good as well.

Half link chains all the way.  I'd rather carry that few oz extra weight and know a chain isn't going to snap on me at full pelt down the first straight.

I've now bought a new Izumi race chain and that'll be getting changed every year :daumenhoch:

Are half link chains stronger that standard?

:) Not really-just different shaped links.Go for a 1/8 chain rather than a 3/32 if you break chains a lot.

They tend to be made a bit beefier than a standard chain and less prone to stretching.
