ooooh a bit of spit n Polish
« on: March 30, 2006, 07:30 PM »
remember the flakey chrome Hutch stem i bought? Well i filed off the chrome with my gunsmiths file, and then wet n dryed from 40 to 1000 grit. Then i used autosol and a hard felt mandrel and finally autosol and a soft mandrel. Thanks to Gremlin for some tips. It came up pretty well for a first attempt at polishing i think

Thanks for the encouraging comments guys.... I will polish it a couple more times to get it up to mirror finish then its going on the Torker :)
Good luck with your stem winnit... the filing off of the chrome is a pain in the arse... if you file, just make sure you keep it flat :daumenhoch: if you hit any probs then give me a shout ;)
I have Cetem finishing schools video on proffesional polishing techniques if anyone would like to borrow it :daumenhoch:
