I  have in my possesion a Hoffman Deebo and wondered if anyone out there could shed some light on how it came about and where it fits in within the Hoffman range.

Hiya,
Do you know why it came about?
It looks identical to the taj but slightly smaller ,was this done for a reason?

I rode a Deebo from about 99 to 202 - I loved it-  there were two models - the Deebo [ regular 20.5 "toptube I think] and the Lil Deebo [ 20! ] I had the Lil Deebo- when I ws into short frames ! The frame had a total look of the Taj frame, and was Hoffmans way of keeping the design after Taj left to do T1. As for who's frame signature it was, it was either Butcher or Mike Esscamilla - I cant remember!
Rode well but extremely heavy!

They came in 20 & 21" t/t & came out in early '98 I think. It wasn't a sig frame from what I remember, more a "team" frame. I've still got my old XL doing pub bike duty  :daumenhoch:

its the seat stay wishbone that denotes its heritage, taj used it on his signature frame aptly name the taj, when he left to start Terrible One he took the design with him and its still used today on the barcode frame,
the deebo was basically and overbuilt taj frame, it was'nt a signature frame for anyone on the team though, i think escamilla rode one but butcher had his own sig frame,
i had a deebo 20.5tt but hated it, after the oversized holmes it just felt clumsy to me, kind of clunky almost,
good enough frame though, certainly strong,

I had one of these somewhere around 1999 as well.  I initially swapped it for an STA that was too short.  The Deebo was awesome, just a bit on the heavy side and I eventually replaced it in 2001 with a Barcode.  Here's a couple of photos!
