my gt builds so far
« on: February 20, 2010, 11:41 AM »
some of may or may not know that im slowly building 2 mid 90's gt's

one is a replica of the gt fueler i had in 95, so it has profiles, shimano dx's, slam bars, gt dropnose seat, gt pro series chainring, tech 77, shimano canti brake, odi longnecks etc... and eventually super pros with gt tyres

and my other build is a 97 gt pro series, i never had one of these in the 90's but always loved the look of the frame and decided to build one, this will be a pretty much all gt build, no s&m parts whatsoever!!!!! (its been hard but ive resisted so far :LolLolLolLol:)

spec is 97 gt pro series frame, forks are to be removed and replace with a nos pair the same as the fueler's, gt piston stem, gt cranks, gt dx's, gt chainring,  90's gt pro bars these are huge 29x9   gt seat post, v brake and shimano deore lever, eventually it will have a gt dropnose seat, odi longneck grips and some 90's 36 spoke chrome race wheels and gt tyres

both builds are on hold as i just spent 1k on a new pc but hope to have them finished by the end of the summer :daumenhoch:

gt fuelers are nice looing frames I think - always liked the way they keeped to roots toptube poping out the back to meet the seatstays - like the old gt race frames from the 80s.  Some of gts bikes tend to be a gimicky I think, but the clean stuff they do is nice.

That pro series is sweet.  I wanted to buy that frame and forks myself but didnt have the funds when it came up for sale.
If you do decide to ever sell it let me know :daumenhoch:
