Released in 1982.
This is the brochure picture from the 1983 Raleigh Action Bikes Brochure.
(Take no notice of the chainring on this one, I have never seen ONE example fitted with this type, it is thought they were used for Brochure photo's ONLY!, Raleigh tended to do that alot..).
Remember Raleigh were late into the BMX scene and these initial models in 82' were rushed onto the market place... a fact that was clear in both Frame Design & Build

The early examples came with a Coaster Brake Tab welded on the rear chain stay
The catalogue stated that a RED Tuff Burner was part of the Burner line-up but very few examples exist, and it is thought that these may have been put together by Raleigh dealers.
The Mk1 Tough/Tuff was renamed the Mag Burner when it lost its Skyway Tuff II’s in place of Simplex 7 spoke Mag Wheels.
