seat post fitting help please

hello, have had this problem with loads of bikes and i just usually swap posts around until one fits.

any tips for these as surely they are all the same old school size? skyways, gt's and diamond backs

should i grease the post before i slide it in?

any tips on cleaning inside the seatpost downtube? as perhaps bit grubby and rusty down there

advice gratefully appreciated

clamp could have been overtightened and pushed the top together a bit , just persist ya poof it ll go

  its the wd38 ya want dave  try a bitta grease , some are tight need to keep turning the fooker
