ive already got one as a spare, although the rip panels are grey not black like the chainreaction photo

the pitchforks they have are a little confusing as they have the xlt spec but they cant be xlts as they have ad mounts according to the buy/ instock button

and xlts cant run a cable through the steer tube due to the alloy insert

looks like they put up the xlt spec instead of the old pitchfork spec :daumenhoch:

NOT TRUE! I fitted a cable down there fine. i drilled a hole in the ally top bolt and got the cable down there too  ;)

ahh now thats intresting alex :daumenhoch: before i bought my xlt's i emailed someone at s&m (cant remember who but it wasnt moeller) and they said u cant run a cable through the steer tube due to the insert so when i got my xlt's and saw the insert i thought u might be able to drill out one of the four holes in the insert  a little bit so a cable would just run through it

did u use a thinner outer cable to go through the insert or did u manage to get a normal one through it?

I used a normal linear cable. (I think it was a 665 Death cable, but Im sure they are all the same). It went straight thro one of the holes. Easy.

Come on, what does anyone at S&M really know about running a front brake?  :LolLolLolLol:

lol true, ill have to take my front wheel off and try and feed a cable through, i would like to fit a brake plate instead of welding mounts on but the fork hole is too big for the brake plates bolt

When the XLTs first came out I called up S&M. They had one pair with 990 mounts on, they werent even sure why they had made them. They must have been specificaly for me, even if they didnt know it at the time!
