About 2 or 3 years ago my mate asked me to sell his Gen1 Haro Freestyler on Ebay. After a few messages on ebay off someone on here , no idea who,I was directed to RAD.
After building up my Gen1 back to its former glory and reading a few threads on the old school racing up north I thought I'd give that a go, that was mint.
So why not give the new school stuff a go so after racing a few times last year on my cruiser I thought I'd give the European Indoor racing a go in Kortrijk Belgium last weekend.
Absolutely brilliant
If someone had said to me 3 years ago I would be racing BMX indoors in Belgium in a few years I would have told them they were mad, but here I am loving it and to cap it all off my daughter is British BMX champ as well cos she started at the same time as me.
So cheers RAD for getting me back into this BMX lark, should have done it years ago
Oh and I made the semi's both days in 30+ in Belgium which I thought was OK out of 60/70+ riders
Check out Semi1 in 30+ both days here (I'm the one in black coming through at the back)

Me too, gone from not riding a bike in over 20 years to riding Rom skatepark again, then on to racing and winning the British Champs in 2008 on old school, and I`m going to the world champs this year in South Africa, plus riding 4x as well, it`s all good

this is just one of the unique things about bmx look at how many people have come back in the last couple of years and are now mixing it up with the best of current riders.
mind you the 80's have a lot to answer for just look at the fashion for example bright coloured socks, shoe laces and gloves which kids are now wearing.
seen that some where before?

Good stuff Haro 82
You should tell BC/The Commission about your story to show there is a point to having old school racing at the regionals and Brits if it results in more stories like yours.
