HELP SAVE HATTERSLEY BMX TRACK!

A few of us here in sunny Manchester have set about trying to get the BMX track in Hattersley rebuilt.  For those who don't know the track, its situated adjacent the A57 at the end of the M67 on the road between Sheffield and Manchester.  If you look into the sports field as you approach the round-a-bout (heading towards Manc) you will see the flood lights that were erected around the track to enable night time racing.

Sadly, as my photos from today show, the track is looking a little worse for ware but the potential is to make a decent new facility is still there.  A few of us have entered into discussions with the Local Authority and initial feelings seem positive.  In the meantime, ahead of a meeting on Feb 22nd, we need the bmx community to get behind us and show your support.  We have set up a group on Facebook (see link below) and are interest to hear from anyone who remembers the track BITD or is willing to lend a hand!
