My latest build, no laughing as its another Halfords.

If you're a true BMX fan, you may like this. If you're a BMX snob, you'll hate it.

Anyhows, won this little puppy on the bay ages ago. It was a collection in Sheffield, as i live in Southampton i arranged with Spen69 to collect for me and post down  :4_17_5: :4_17_5:  I sort of needed another of these builds as it had the original stickers on. These were stripped and sent to Del to reproduce 2 sets, 1 for this and 1 for the 20" as we were short of the proper headtube stickers for that build. When you see the stickers you'll understand why they were a sod to get done without a proper set to copy. Seemed a bit extreme buying a complete bike just for a headtube sticker  :LolLolLolLol:

Pretty much 100% apart from the wheels as the ones the bike came on were totally screwed and beyond repair. Grips and brake cables were also replaced for again the same reason. A quick powder, decals applied, all the bits in rust remover for what seems forever. Quickly built and hey ho, job done.

Enjoy.

With it's bigger brother then  :LolLolLolLol:

And for any snobs out there reading this, this photo is for you  :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:

I know they're only Halfords Turbos but i'd hate to see these end up in a landfill site and if they can be preserved then i've earned some brownie points. Also, a few of you probably owned these as kids and you're now on a massive trip down memory lane.

A massive massive thanks to Del for the stickers and Spen for doing what he did, a true gent.

cheers peeps

John, not a chance mate, they're back in my Vault now.

Joff, they're spare mate, i only have 1 more build here now and that's a Nishiki, mind you Car boot sales are starting up again soon. I'll soon have either an MRD or a Rickman.

Theyre great. Would be nice if you could land a 24'' Turbo to complete the set  ;)

How high is the BB on the 20''  :D

"And for any snobs out there reading this, this photo is for you..."

Andy, PMSL when I saw the Hutch traps fella, nice touch :daumenhoch: An absolute pleasure bud - me and my bro rescued PeterJ's original (like his mom actually had the receipt with the serial number on it and it matched the one rusting away in my garage) Ammaco from BITD. Like we all say on here bud, old school kept out of landfill is all that counts :smitten:

Now then, where's that picture I took of the bike when I collected it for you as it looked nothing like that - rust and shite everywhere....

By the way, didn't Halfords make a 24" bike called a "Tracker" in 1984...... sounds like your next project fella :LolLolLolLol:

Nice one - see you at MK again bud :daumenhoch:

Spen
Still limping......
