Which Dylon Dye Colour for Tuff II's?
« on: January 27, 2010, 01:38 PM »
Hi all

Anyone know which Dylon Dye colour I should use for the following?

How many "small tins" do I use per wheel and can I use the same mixture for both wheels?

Should I only use Multi purpose dye?

Red Tuff's dyed Red

It's a toss up between:-

No 9 (Pagoda Red)
No 10 (Cherry Flame)
No 11 (Bordeaux)

White Tuff's dyed Lavender/Purple?

No 15 (Windsor Purple), seems to be the only choice unless other dye types can be used

Unless anyone knows of anyone who has a set of Lavender Tuff's (pref with Alloy Hubs) going for sale  :daumenhoch:

Thanks all

Lamby

Have a look at Rit Dye, hearing really good stuff about how well this penetrates and looks afterwards ...

Thanks fella's

Does anyone know which Red Dye to use?

do not under any circumstance dye a pair of white tuffs lavender

please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave

Might not have any choice m8

I defo want Lavender with Alloy hubs and want to finish off the build as soon as I can with other the bits and bobs I have been collecting and lying around.

I'll prob stick White Tuffs on the build for the time being but I think the Lavender Tuff's with alloy hubs are out of reach and I guess there comes a point when alternative options are considered...

I don't think Skyway did a lavender alloy hub tuff, I'm pretty sure the lavender ones were UK made and had a plastic front and bolt in rear  :daumenhoch:

Buy a cheap pair of new white Skyways, dye them and save the white alloy hubbed ones, please  ;D

Don't worry chap. Cert wouldn't dye the ones I've got. I'd be the one telling the firing squad to shoot if I did that......!!!!!  ;D

I've seen them on US eBay but sellers  haven't been willing to ship to uk. I think I've seen them on Maurice Meyers site as well.

I recall someone on here dyed a set as well.

Could always do an "N2CUS" and paint a pair  ;D

I think that maybe just a rear alloy front plastic loose bb set of tuffs, am pretty sure the Lavender colour hit Skyway in 85 to go with their streetbeat, by that time they were moving over to plastic hubs  :daumenhoch:
