I asked a US seller for a shipping quote to the UK, this was the reply:

'paypal me 2 cents and mark it as goods then i can give you a price . LMK and i will give you my paypal addy'

I asked if my address would be enough and haven't heard back yet.
Anyone ever heard of or done this sort of thing? $:-\$

never heard of that one, sounds a bit iffy to me, why does he need any money just to get a price? I know it's only 2cents but what does he need it for, after all your offering to buy something off "him". I'd tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine.

i think the reason for this is i know a lot of overseas guys get bombarded with questions asking for postage to the uk. he is doing it to see if you are genuine enough to go through with the sale. also to see if your paypal account is verified
