I know about the Park tool press but I wondered if anyone knows and cheaper ones?

Don't really fancy spending £70 on a park one

I do normally use the old wood and hammer method but I can't bring myself to do that on my freshly powdered frame.

NB.   It will come with a couple of SURPLUS plastic washers.  Chuck them in the bin as they only get squished and then they get stuck in the threads and jam!!

Thanks for the link but it looks like that only does headsets? 

I regularly use mine on mid BB's not too sure about US cups but if the bearing is in the cup babdabing, no difference

Threaded bar, nuts and some big washers, just get more washers than I have in this photo as they have a tendency to bend

I use something very similar to Moose's one.  8mm studding but I found a couple of copper squares cut from a length of copper bar which are 1/4" thick and use a substantial washer on top of that.  Can then be wound in as a pair, or easier to draw one in at a time with the copper eliminating any stress burrs to the headset.  I've fitted numerous Chris King headsets with this method.  Cheap as chips and could be used to draw in bearing cups too.  Humps

I recently used a large G Clamp I bought from Homebase with a small section of ply either end, worked a treat and only cost £9.95.

i use a massive rubber hammer. tap down with nylon hammer to finish.
